TRIPLY EDITORIAL / EXAMPLE ITINERARY

Royal Jongno and a neighborhood market

Keep the day around Gyeongbokgung’s western side, combining palace history with a compact traditional market. Start with Gyeongbokgung and the National Folk Museum, then walk west to Tongin Market. Continue south toward Gyeonghuigung if you want another palace setting. These are individually verified stops; choose the palace-and-museum portion that fits your pace instead of assuming every venue must be completed. Check the venues’ current admission and closing-day information when setting the date.

Day 01

01

Jongno / Culture

Gyeongbokgung

Founded in 1395, this was the first royal palace of the Joseon dynasty in Seoul. Its reconstructed courts and surviving halls offer a way to understand the capital’s royal layout, with Gwanghwamun framing the approach from the city.

02

Jongno · Gyeongbokgung / Culture

National Folk Museum of Korea

This museum on the Gyeongbokgung grounds focuses on traditional everyday Korean life. Its displays explain household customs and life-cycle rituals, complementing the palace’s emphasis on royal spaces.

03

Jongno · Tongin-dong / Food & drink

Tongin Market

A neighborhood market dating to 1941, with small stores, sit-down restaurants and street-food stalls. Its compact setting west of Gyeongbokgung makes it an approachable food stop during a Seochon walk.

04

Jongno / Culture

Gyeonghuigung

The reconstructed remains of Joseon’s western secondary palace offer a compact introduction to royal architecture. Much of the original complex was lost; the surviving palace setting pairs naturally with the nearby Seoul Museum of History.
